Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses Megaphone: curators, their team members, and clients. It is part of the Terms of Service and the Curator Agreement. Effective date: October 29, 2026. Version 2026-10-29.1.
The short version: sell real things, be honest about them, treat people with respect, and keep client data inside the service.
Illegal and prohibited services
Do not use Megaphone to offer, request, sell or promote:
- Anything illegal where it is offered or delivered.
- Adult services, escort services or sexual services of any kind, or anything that facilitates them.
- Illegal drugs, weapons or stolen goods.
- Human trafficking, exploitation or services involving minors.
- Anything that breaks sanctions or export laws.
Tickets and resale
Do not resell tickets, tables, passes or guest list spots in breach of law or of the venue’s or promoter’s rules. Do not sell access you do not control or do not have the right to sell.
Honest inventory
- No fake inventory, bait listings or options that do not exist.
- No misleading prices, hidden terms or fees that are not shown on the option.
- Do not take deposits for things you cannot deliver.
- Do not overbook, and release or refund promptly when you cannot deliver.
- Show your real cancellation, no-show and refund policy on every option.
Official media only
- Use official images, flyers and descriptions from the venue, promoter or operator, or media you made or have the rights to use.
- No AI-generated or digitally altered imagery of venues, events, yachts, villas or people.
- No scraped or copied media without rights.
- No misleading use of logos, names or endorsements.
Messaging and spam
- Text only clients who opted in. No purchased, rented or scraped lists.
- Respect STOP and HELP right away, on every message.
- Respect quiet hours. Marketing texts go out only between 8 AM and 9 PM in the recipient’s local time.
- Stay within the cap of 6 marketing texts a month per client.
- No deceptive, harassing or unlawful messages, and no phishing or scams.
- Do not try to get around Megaphone’s consent checks.
See /sms-terms for how the messaging program works.
Respect
No harassment, threats, hate or discrimination against anyone, including clients, venue staff, curators or our team. Do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or any other protected status. Do not pressure or coerce anyone, and do not share intimate or private content about anyone.
Client data
- Use client data only to serve that client and for the marketing they agreed to.
- Do not export, sell, rent or share client data outside the service, or with another curator, except as the client directs or the law requires.
- Do not combine client data with data from other sources to build profiles for unrelated uses.
- Share a client’s details with a venue only as far as its door list needs, such as name and party size.
- Keep client data secure. Report any loss or exposure to us right away.
See /data-processing for the full terms.
Scraping and automation
Do not scrape, crawl or harvest data from Megaphone, use bots or scripts to create accounts or send requests, or overload or interfere with the service. Use only the official features and interfaces.
Fee integrity
Do not avoid Megaphone’s fees by taking a booking that was priced, approved or invoiced through Megaphone off-platform and then misreporting it, splitting a booking to dodge fees, or logging an on-platform sale as an off-platform payment. You can accept off-platform payments when that is what really happened, and report them honestly.
Payments, fraud and high-risk activity
- No fraud, no use of stolen cards, accounts or identities.
- No money laundering, structuring or moving funds for someone else.
- No transactions that the payment processor restricts or prohibits. You must follow the processor’s restricted business list, which can change.
- No cash-out schemes, or selling credit or gift balances for value outside the rules.
- No pressuring clients to dispute or reverse a payment.
Age rules and alcohol
- Nightlife bookings, including tables, events, guest lists and Door Mode passes, are for guests 21 or older.
- Valid ID is required, and the name on the ID must match the door list.
- Never serve or help serve alcohol to anyone under 21, and do not list or promote nightlife to minors.
- Follow local licensing and alcohol rules for your events.
Security
- Do not probe, scan or test the service’s security without our written permission.
- Do not share logins, private links, passes or credentials. Each team member uses their own sign-in.
- Do not try to access another curator’s or client’s data.
- Do not upload malware or anything that could harm the service or others.
- Report vulnerabilities to legal@megaphone.bio. We welcome good-faith reports.
Enforcement
If we think someone has broken this policy, we may, depending on how serious it is and without prior notice when needed:
- Remove content, options or passes.
- Pause a page, a feature such as payments or texting, or an account.
- Suspend or terminate access.
- Hold or reverse fees and refund affected clients.
- Report to the payment processor, carriers, law enforcement or regulators.
Where it is safe and sensible, we will explain and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may act on reports, on our own checks and on carrier or processor alerts. Breaking this policy does not limit our other rights.
Reporting abuse
If you see something that breaks this policy, tell us at support@megaphone.bio. Include the page or link and what happened. We keep reports confidential where we can. If someone is in danger, call local emergency services first.
